The A249-based Detling Diner closed almost 18 months ago following a devastating fire which started in its stockroom due to an electrical fault. It reopened on Wednesday, November 5, with up to 100 people returning on each of the first two days.

Prior to the fire the diner was a popular venue for HDRCGB Region 17 mid month Sunday meet. The meet relocated to The Stag of the second Sunday, and due to it popularity it will continue and Detling Diner will be an addition to the calendar.

Over the last two years, they have seen the diner become a filming set for TV productions three times – twice before the blaze and once afterwards.

First was Netflix’s The Gentlemen, filmed in January 2023 following the release of Guy Ritchie’s movie of the same name.
